COMBO BREAKER LAUNCHES A NEW COMMUNITY TOURNAMENT INITIATIVE FOR OUR 2020 EVENT!
The fighting game genre is full of incredible, fun-to-play titles. Every year COMBO BREAKER strives to present as many of these games as we can, but fall short due to our community’s amazing wealth of competitive games. To help with this, COMBO BREAKER is partnering with KIT Gaming and Net Battles to help create a new and improved Community Tournament experience. With the assistance of these trusted tournament operators, COMBO BREAKER will be able to offer a new Bring Your Own Console experience that creates an event within an event, complete with its own dedicated stage spectacle, COMBO BREAKER tournament medals, stream(s), and more!
Approved Community Tournaments will be managed in part by COMBO BREAKER and feature a single destination registration page once tournaments have been approved. This should help ease the promotional burden of independent organizers and provide a 1-stop-shop for Community Tournament enthusiasts. Community Tournament game registration will open in February.

COMBO BREAKER is greatly expanding its floor space for independent organizers to host Community Tournaments event weekend. To help ensure this experience meets the standards players expect of tournaments at COMBO BREAKER, the new Community Tournaments initiative is partnered with Kumite Gaming. Kumite Gaming will help manage organizer applications, approve and schedule tournaments, plan equipment flow, and assist the bracket runners necessary for this space to be great.
KIT Vandy of Kumite Gaming will be bringing his significant tournament experience from Kumite In Tennessee and Kumite In Texas to his role as COMBO BREAKER 2020’s Community Tournament Manager!
To help showcase these Community Tournaments to the world, COMBO BREAKER will be working with Indianapolis’s own Net Battles! Known for their work organizing Naptown Clutch and recently brought in to the Team Sp00ky collective, Net Battles will bring a devoted broadcast solution to the 2020 COMBO BREAKER Community Tournaments area.
Tournament finals will also be archived to the Team Sp00ky YouTube channel; Helping showcase these communities to one of the largest fighting game audiences worldwide.
COMBO BREAKER is known for its concert style staging and in 2020 we are bringing a specialized version of that experience to our Community Tournaments! Select B.Y.O.C. tournament finals will be presented with a premium stage experience, including a large format screen, professional lighting, stage risers, and a professional photographer to capture all the Community Championship moments!
Community Tournaments often feature international competition and incredibly challenging brackets to overcome. In respect for this competitive difficulty COMBO BREAKER will be providing official CB medals to the Top 4 competitors of all approved Community Tournaments!
Tournaments reaching 128 competitors with sufficient advance notice can request medals for their Top 8.
